About Insurance
Women's Health Consultants verifies a patient's insurance coverage before scheduling an appointment. When you call the office we ask for a copy of your insurance card front and back. If your insurance requires a referral, we ask that you fax the referral to our office.
After your insurance has been verified, one of our schedulers will call you to explain your benefit coverage before scheduling your appointment.
If we do not call you back within a day or two after we take your insurance information, please have patience as it sometimes is difficult to get through to the insurance companies or our appointment scheduler may have to confer with one of our physicians so that you are appropriately scheduled for your needs.
Protocol
Appointments are confirmed one business day in advance of the appointment date. When you schedule an appointment, please provide the receptionist with telephone numbers where you can be directly reached. Messages left to confirm your appointment would include the provider, date and time of appointment and if a referral is needed.
We ask that you arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that you may complete all necessary paperwork.
As a courtesy to your physician who has specific scheduled time in the patient office, we would appreciate 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment.
You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you do not have required referrals or routinely arrive late for your appointments.
We advise patients to call before arriving to the office for laboratory tests, record copying, and for the completion of paperwork. This would better accommodate you and avoid unnecessary waiting.
